Locations
Locations
Locations represent physical spaces within a facility. This may be a room, building or even a logical group. Resources are grouped within Locations which allows for the application of Access Rules and Training requirements to all Resources within a Location.
When you apply Access Rules to a Location, they will be applied to all Resources within that Location. This allows for the creation of general rules that apply to all Resources in a Location, while still allowing for Resource specific rules to be applied as necessary. The same is true for Schedules - if a Schedule is applied to a Location, it will be applied to all Resources within that Location.
Locations may also be nested within other Locations. This allows for the creation of a hierarchy of Locations. For example, a Building may contain multiple Rooms, and each Room may contain multiple Benches. Each Location may have its own Access Rules, Schedules, and Training requirements.
Addresses
Locations, Teams and Users can all have Addresses. It is possible to reuse the same address for multiple Locations.
Business Hours
Business hours define the boundaries for "after-hour" access control features. Business hours are defined for Locations and as such apply to all Resources within that Location. You can override the business hours for a specific Resource if required.
To ensure that reservations must be made within business hours, combine this setting with a Booking Rule. Business hours are defined by an open and close time for each day of the week, in this way, it is possible to define different hours for each day. It is possible to create a variety of business hours and apply them differently to each location.
For holidays, winter shut-downs, or any other non-regular closures you may create Schedules to refine availability.
Capacity Limits
You may set a capacity limit on Locations. Capacity limits can be enforced through Booking Rules to ensure that the number of users in a given Location is kept below the specified limit. The system will assume 1 user per reservation.
Physical Access Control
::: Info Colabmacs is capable of physically preventing Users from accessing Resources through the use of Interlocks - for more details see Interlocks. :::
